Sustainable livelihoods give people the ability to support themselves, provide for their families, and build a more independent future. Our Livelihoods initiatives focus on creating pathways toward economic stability for individuals and communities facing poverty, unemployment, displacement, or limited access to opportunities. We support programs that may include vocational training, entrepreneurship development, employment skills, small-business support, financial literacy, tools and resources for income generation, and other initiatives that help people become economically self-reliant. We believe that lasting change is strongest when people have the knowledge, skills, resources, and confidence to create opportunities for themselves. Rather than focusing only on short-term assistance, livelihood programs aim to strengthen long-term resilience by helping individuals develop sustainable sources of income. We also recognize the importance of supporting women, young people, caregivers, and other groups who may face additional barriers to economic participation. By connecting people with training, mentorship, resources, and market opportunities, we help unlock potential that already exists within communities. A stable livelihood can transform more than an individual’s financial situation—it can improve children’s education, family nutrition, healthcare access, housing stability, and overall well-being. Through our livelihood efforts, we aim to help people move from dependence toward independence and build stronger economic foundations for themselves, their families, and their communities.
